Bonfire Night at Ingleton

P1010148

A dry night and lots of excitement for Lily who was lucky enough to have all her grandparents on hand. Most of the piccies were not much good but the sparkler ones came out okay.

Short seaside break

DSCN1743

We had a cracking stay in a caravan for two nights at Reighton Sands near to Filey, N Yorkshire. Managed to do just about everything you could wish to do by the seaside in three packed days and still came home feeling relaxed and refreshed. Three places featured in the photos are Filey, Scarboroiugh and Bridlington – all classic northern seaside towns in their own way. Thanks to the Bartletts for the kind offer of the caravan and to Fiona for sorting it out for us – shame about your fan belt (she never quite made it to see us)!

A trip to see Dips, Jane, Flo and Libby

Walled

Our good friends Dips and Jane came up with their two girls to stay in a holiday cottage at Ireby, near Kirkby Lonsdale for a week, and we popped over to see them. Had a lovely but brief visit, and a little walk along a line of some sheepfolds created by artist Andy Goldsworthy.

A brief intermission for some ‘objects’ from Lily’s early life

Lily

Just rearranging a few things on the hard disk and came across these things that I’d put on an early version of this website but were’nt there any more. I think they’re worth having albeit in the archive.

Varying from some pencil drawings of Lily and her cousins Matthew and Angus, to some early artwork by Lily and her very first sporting certificate !!

Slurping noodles and lounging on a mattress, aged two and a bit.

A ‘found’ video – found this footage and it had never been watched so a very quick editing job.  It proves how valuable video is when you’ve got children.  She’s at such a great age in this footage – a real person but so much less grown up than she is now – virtually double the age in this film.  Simple things in it just make Katie and I laugh.

A bit of time before the Three Peaks race with Phil and family

Double Jersey
The day before the Three Peaks and a chance to get togather with Phil, Anne and the children at Mum’s house. A lovely time and a very important chance to do very little other than just be together. Lily and Matthew went on the swings for AGES and it made me realise how much she’d grown up – being able to do something that Matthew does equally well ! Olly’s first birthday party

Click Here Lily’s youngest cousin, Olly, was one last week, and on Saturday there was a lovely party to celebrate – we also had Fiona (Katie’s elder sister), Jenny and Lucy (her daughters) to stay for the weekend. Lovely time.
See the party video here.
